A major way our government shapes society, is by using the media to portray much social conflict. Must pain and suffering is displayed on multiple platforms of any type of medium. Using the interaction paradigm, they use social communication such as cell phones, social media or electronic devices as ways to keep only certain problems or situations on the people’s minds. This to me, puts our conscious thinking into a major jeopardy of having our own realities shaped by the government’s agenda. Better known as the social exchange paradigm, the government can change everyone’s views of major problems throughout the country and/or the world.

One way I can use social media as a way to stay in touch with loved ones. Using social media, it makes it so much easier to stay in contact and connected to all my family and friends who live all over the world. One negative thing I could do negatively with media would be to share false facts. This is a major problem in America right now because its lots every medium’s credibility and taking away our first amendment.

One way society has benefited from social media is that the people have way more opportunity to stay informed about major problems and issues going a global scale rather than a city scale. Society however has negatively been affected by media because not every single thing posted on the internet or shown on the news is completely correct. This has changed the perspective of our society by putting more fear into adults. More adults are worried about violent crime, even though violent crime rate has actually lowered. This type of media is exactly the kind of social conflict the government is using to keep everyone in fear. Weather it’s from an act of terrorism, or fear of your neighbor breaking into your vehicle. If were all in an act of fear, we can’t work together to get the major problems handled

I decided to use this video of A Bug’s Life for multiple reasons, I love the movie to start but it’s also a huge example of social conflict within a social structure. The ants are treated poorly by the grasshoppers as the hoppers are hoping for them to give them everything.

1) How does social conflict effect the social structure of our society?

2) What are some ways the Interaction paradigm is used?

3) Which paradigm effects everyday society the most?
