Today we discussed and re-analyzed the case of Andy Williams. We identified the amount of social isolation Andy had from moving. We also touched base on how Andy was bullied by what seems like everyone. Along with kids at school, the new group of friends Andy made always picked on him for being the smallest and he always had a way of laughing it off. His social roles were extremely different from the way he truly viewed himself. Andy’s family splitting up while he was younger is probably the starting point to his mental disability. He would ask neighbors/ aunts if he could call them mom. To me this is a red flag to the state of Andy’s ego and superego. His self esteem is down and moderate making me believe his was giving hints very moderately as to what was going to happen.
One way I can potentially help society would be by paying closer attention to people and what they say rather than investing my time into my cell phone. One way I can potentially hurt society would be by allowing myself to stay distracted and misguided by what I see on my cell phone, rather than living life and making real life experiences with strangers.
One way society can possibly help me is by allowing me to learn more and morea about people that are extremely different then me, giving me an entirely new perspective on how the world works. One way society can potentially hurt me would be by giving me false information about those who are different than me.
One way we can potentially help society is by losing the focus of technology and being drawn into our social media and cell phones and go out and make physicaly memories. Stay in touch by literally being within touching distance, rather than on a computer or cell phone screen.
