One experience I had with a different culture was when I went to New York City. A few friends and I knew that we needed to see exactly how Chinatown was and that we may all never experience New York again. We walked the streets and you could see the difference in the way people communicated there compared to other parts of New York. Store owners were more generous and willing to communicate with us, while also trying to get us to buy novelties. We didn’t have much money with us, but they all seemed to want to help us find a price that would be fitting without taking all of our money. As we walked all you could smell was wonderful food. I really enjoyed my experience in Chinatown and it really made a big impression on our entire trip.
